NAVALA VILLAGE TRIP
One of the most picturesque villages in Fiji, this one retains the traditional bures (thatched huts supported by center poles) that have been replaced in other villages by prefabricated concrete homes. Fiji’s last traditional village, Navala, is north from Nadi, through the sugar city of Lautoka, home of Fiji’s largest sugar cane mill. With a stop in the predominantly Indo-Fijian town of Ba, you will have time to visit the market and experience the bustle of this rural center. From Ba, it’s a climb into the hills to the village. After a customary ‘Sevusevu’ or ceremony welcoming visitors, you will have the opportunity to tour the village and mingle with the children at the village school (weekdays only). Stop for Lunch (cost not included) . There is access to swimming. Horse riding is an extra cost.
